Nicholas Rossi, who previously claimed that the victim was trying to avoid accusations in the case, was found guilty of sexual assault against a former girlfriend. The court in Salt Lake accepted the decision on Wednesday, September 13, 2025, after the traditional judicial deliberation.
The jury recognized him guilty in the case that occurred in 2008. The victim and her parents provided testimony during the trial. Rossi declined to testify in his own defense. The verdict will be announced on July 20.
He is also to appear before the court in November in Utah on another charge in the case. The charge in his case arose from his arrest in DNA testing samples, which revealed that Rossi was identified as a suspect only ten years after the incident.
Earlier, it was reported that Rossi claimed to be a victim on February 29, 2020, after being released from a mental health facility, but police and his former lawyers raised doubts about this information. The man was arrested in Scotland in 2021 during COVID-19 lockdowns when medical personnel recognized him by his tattoos.
Who is Nicholas Rossi?
Nicholas Rossi, born Nicholas Alahverdian, was born in July 1987 in Rhode Island. He grew up in a prominent family and was an active critic of state institutions. In 2019, he moved to Ireland, where he changed his name to Arthur Knight. Simultaneously, in 2022, Rossi was barred from Scotland, where he concealed his identity, claiming that he was an Irish orphan.
After his arrest, Rossi was extradited to the USA in June 2024 following the denial of his appeal.
