UEFA has displayed a banner that read "Stop the killing of children - Stop the killing of civilians" during the final of the Super Cup between Tottenham and PSZ in the middle.
This statement was prominently displayed on the field before the start of the match at the Friuli Stadium in Udine, Italy. Two child refugees from Gaza, 12-year-old Palestinian Tala and 9-year-old boy Mohammed, participated in the ceremony of awarding.
UEFA reported that Tala and Mohammed have moved to Milan to receive medical assistance. Ten child refugees from countries experiencing conflicts, such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria, and Ukraine, also participated in the event before the match.
It is recalled that on July 7, 2023, Israel began a military operation in Gaza following attacks by Hamas, resulting in the deaths of nearly 1,200 people, and 251 individuals were taken hostage. Since then, according to the data from the Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas, as a result of the Israeli offensive, nearly 62,000 Palestinians have been killed.
In a statement, UEFA announced the expansion of its humanitarian assistance for children in Gaza, collaborating with three charitable organizations.
It is worth noting that UEFA prohibits political, ideological, and religious messages in stadiums during matches and may impose penalties for their violations.
