Apple Plans New Developments for Smart Home and Automation

  • Apple may part ways with the HomeKit brand in favor of "Apple Home".
  • The company is developing a new native app with an interactive display.
  • A smart camera with facial recognition capabilities is expected to be introduced.

Apple is actively preparing to update its lineup of smart home products. Along with other recent updates, the company may part ways with the HomeKit brand in favor of "Apple Home". This change became apparent in the beta version of tvOS 26, where the settings for "AirPlay and HomeKit" were renamed to "AirPlay and Apple Home".

In addition, the company plans to launch a new line of smart devices. Among them, a new display is expected, reminiscent of HomePod, capable of controlling smart home devices, playing music, and streaming videos. This device, according to sources, will support a large number of users through facial recognition.

Apple is also working on a smart camera with facial recognition capabilities that can automatically perform certain actions, such as turning on lights when someone enters the room. Furthermore, the development includes a native app that is planned for release in 2027. This device will have a display that collects data and will be able to interact with users, providing recipes or suggestions in planning meals.

With these innovations, Apple aims to elevate its ecosystem to a new level, connecting smart devices with new technologies of artificial intelligence.
