This is reported by L'Équipe, La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Gabriele Gravina, president of the Italian Football Federation, expressed concern regarding the situation with Gianluigi Donnarumma. Gravina noted that after Luka Chevalier's transfer to PSG, Donnarumma is considering leaving the club. On August 14, 2025, he announced his departure from PSG in a post on Instagram.
Gravina emphasized the importance of Donnarumma for the national team, especially ahead of upcoming matches that could determine the team's chances of participating in the World Championship. "We are worried, but confident that he will find his place," added Gravina, confirming that Donnarumma will remain the main goalkeeper of the national team.
Donnarumma, who still has a year left on his contract with PSG, was not included in the squad for the match for the European Supercup against Tottenham, where PSG formed a new lineup. It is known that he has already reached an agreement with Manchester City, but the club is not letting him go without the necessary financial resolution.
Currently, negotiations are underway regarding the terms of the transfer, but PSG demands a significant compensation for the player, considering that Chevalier's club pays 40 million euros plus bonuses. However, according to the agent of Donnarumma, Vicente Raiola, Premier League clubs are showing active interest in the negotiations.
Gravina also mentioned that Donnarumma is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and hopes that he will quickly find his place in a new club to continue his career at the highest level.
