Trump Supports European Peacekeeping Mission in Ukraine

In Brussels, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed support for European leaders in the establishment of a peacekeeping mission for Ukraine. This decision enhances the chances for the success of a future peace agreement.

Trump discussed this issue during a call with European leaders ahead of a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. European leaders emphasized that U.S. participation is crucial for the security of Ukraine, given that European military forces do not have sufficient resources.

The mission, known as the Multinational Force of Ukraine, is expected to involve participation from nearly 30 countries. It aims to ensure security in Ukraine after the completion of active combat operations, as well as to support the training of Ukrainian troops.

The British army has changed the format of the mission, moving away from the idea of creating a contingent of 30,000 soldiers. The focus will now be on securing Ukraine's airspace, training troops and expanding the Black Sea.

Along with new plans, coalition countries will provide logistical support, equipment, and expertise for the restoration of Ukrainian armed forces. It is also planned to deploy air patrols with the assistance of Typhoon or F-35 aircraft to secure Ukraine's airspace.

In addition, coalition countries will support the expansion of the Black Sea and ensure safe passage of vessels to Ukrainian ports.
