Introducing the Antigravity A1 — a new drone for 360-degree filming

  • Antigravity A1 — the first drone for 360-degree filming in 8K.
  • The model is set to launch in January 2026.
  • The drone weighs 249 grams and does not require registration.

According to The Verge, CNET, ZDNet.

The company Insta360 has unveiled a new drone under the Antigravity brand, named A1. This drone is the first in the world to be equipped with the ability to record video in a full 360-degree view in 8K format. The launch of the model is scheduled for January 2026.

The Antigravity A1 weighs approximately 249 grams, which allows it to avoid the need for registration with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the USA. The drone features four cameras that ensure a complete panoramic view.

The drone is controlled using a new Grip controller, which allows for easy adjustments to the flight direction, simply by tilting the controller. For user convenience, it is also designed to be compatible with VR headsets, which provide a visualization of what the drone sees during flight.

During testing, it was noted that it is easy for novices to control. The drone records all events in a panoramic view, allowing users to focus on controlling rather than filming.

While the exact price has not yet been announced, it is expected that the package with the drone, goggles, and controller will cost less than the drones from DJI. This could be an attractive option for content creators looking for new possibilities for filming.
