Pakistan announced the creation of a new rocket force following the recent military conflict with India that occurred in June. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presented this initiative at a ceremony held prior to Pakistan's Independence Day.

According to the Prime Minister, the new force, known as the Army Rocket Force, will be equipped with modern technologies and will be a significant step in enhancing the military capabilities of the army. This structure will have its own command, which will be responsible for the use of rockets in conventional warfare.

The conflict between India and Pakistan escalated following heightened tensions after the deaths of 26 civilians in Kashmir, which triggered Indian airstrikes on Pakistani territory. Both countries, which possess nuclear weapons, are actively updating their military capabilities since their independence in 1947.

After the four-day conflict, during which many people were killed and both sides utilized drones and rockets, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the completion of military actions. Pakistan asserts that the conflict has ended, while India confirmed the loss of its aircraft, but did not disclose their numbers.

Sharif emphasized that Pakistan's nuclear arsenal is intended solely for defense, while the military leadership of the country previously made aggressive statements about nuclear capabilities.
