This will be his fifth consecutive tournament where he will not appear, having previously withdrawn from tournaments in Gstaad, Kitzbühel, and also from Masters 1000 events in Toronto and Cincinnati.

Berrettini's last match took place at Wimbledon, where he played against Polish tennis player Kamila Majchrzak in the first round. After this, he acknowledged that he is going through a tough time and has doubts about his future in tennis. The former world number six currently ranks 59th in the ATP rankings.

Berrettini, who is 29 years old, has been struggling with injuries since the start of the season, which significantly affected his performance. He has not participated in any tournament since Wimbledon, which has raised concerns about his sporting career.
