Former World Snooker Champion Graeme Dott is set to appear in court in 2026 over allegations of sexual abuse against children.
The 48-year-old Dott is accused of non-recent offenses involving two children between 1993 and 2010. Court documents indicate that he allegedly assaulted girls, instructed them to remove clothing, and subjected them to abuse while he was babysitting.
At a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow, which took place on Thursday, Dott, who was not present, denied the allegations. His lawyer, Euan Dow, stated that the accused believes these allegations are fabricated and baseless.
The court set the date for the start of the trial for September 17, 2026. Dott remains on bail. Earlier this year, he was suspended by the Professional Billiards and Snooker Association.
Dott won the world champion title in 2006, defeating Peter Ebdon in the final at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. He also reached the finals twice, having played Ronnie O'Sullivan in 2004 and Neil Robertson in 2010.
