Melania Trump reached out to Hunter Biden with a request to clarify his comments that link her to the sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein, and threatened a lawsuit, which he did not undertake.

Biden, son of former President Joe Biden, stated in an interview that Epstein recognized the First Lady from Donald Trump. Lawyer Melania Trump, Alexander Brito, called these statements "frivolous, defamatory and extraordinarily scandalous."

In his letter, dated September 6, Brito noted that Biden's comments referred to "significant financial and reputational damages" for the First Lady. The demand for clarification and withdrawal is accompanied by a threat of a lawsuit for a sum exceeding 1 billion dollars.

Biden, in an interview, during which he made the controversial comments, refused to clarify and stated: "This will not happen." He indicated that his words are grounded in information obtained from the author Michael Wolff and other sources.

Melania and Donald Trump assert that their recognition model agent Paolo Zampolli was in the spotlight in New York in 1998. The lawsuit threat is part of a strategy that Donald Trump previously utilized to combat critics.

Trump's attorneys also prohibited Biden's comments, calling them defamatory. Biden denied that his words are defamatory, indicating that this issue does not have significant importance for the case.
