Announced agreement regarding the sale of Morecambe club
- Panjab Warriors have reached an agreement to purchase Morecambe
- The Morecambe club is under threat of closure due to financial problems
- Politicians have expressed concerns about the club's situation
The Morecambe club announced the achievement of an agreement in principle regarding the sale of a controlling stake of shares to new owners, Panjab Warriors. This news was announced on the official club website on September 14, 2025.
The club is currently operating under a suspension in the National League due to financial issues and risks closure. The statement notes that the Bond Group company, which is the current owner, is preparing final legal documentation for formalizing the agreement.
Both parties expressed hope that the agreement will contribute to the stability of the club and a positive future both on and off the field. Panjab Warriors have already received EFL approval in June 2025, although the summer period was challenging for the club due to the suspension from the National League.
Since the club's closure in late July 2025, the situation has drawn the attention of politicians, including Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who has urged all interested parties to act accordingly.
The statement from the Bond Group confirms that they are grateful to all club employees for their patience and will address the resulting difficulties. At this moment, it remains unknown when the agreement will be finalized.
