Werner Company Recalls More Than 100,000 Ladders Due to Fall Hazard
- More than 100,000 ladders are being recalled due to mechanical defects.
- Consumers are advised to stop using the ladders immediately and register for a refund.
- 18 incidents of falls have been reported with injuries documented by the company.
Werner Company has announced the recall of over 100,000 ladders due to a faulty mechanism that can cause falls and injuries.
In cooperation with federal regulators of consumer products, Werner is recalling 122,250 Multi-Max Pro ladders, which were sold in sizes 20 and 24 feet. The ladders were sold exclusively at Home Depot from the fall of 2021 through February 2024 for prices ranging from $200 to $281.
The company from Illinois urged consumers to stop using the recalled ladders immediately and register at the site www.wernerco.com/recalls for obtaining a full refund. After proper disposal of the ladder according to Werner's instructions, the company will issue a full compensation.
The ladders have a silver color with a blue top and a blue label on the side, where the words "Werner" and "MULTI MAX PRO" are displayed. The models and numbers are ALMP-20IAA or ALMP-24IAA, and they have a long black power cord at the back.
The company reported 18 incidents of falls, including 14 incidents of injuries that resulted in bruises, sprains, cuts, and also broken bones, ligaments, and ribs.
If consumers believe they have a recalled ladder, they can call Werner at 888-624-1907 from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time Monday through Friday or send an email to ladder@realtimeresults.net. More information is available at http://www.wernerco.com/recalls or on the company’s website.
The recall number is 25-431.
The company noted that the models ALMP-16IAA and ALMP-18IAA Multi-Max Pro, which are currently being sold, have a different design and do not fall under the recall.
