- The band will kick off their farewell tour after 40 years of career.
- David Mustaine encouraged fans to celebrate together with them.
The band Megadeth, known worldwide in the thrash metal scene, announced that their upcoming album will be their last. They also plan to embark on a farewell tour in 2026.
Frontman David Mustaine stated that many musicians do not have the opportunity to perform on their own terms. "I have traveled the world and earned millions of fans, and the most important thing for me — is this farewell with them," he said in his statement.
While details of the final album, including the title and release date, have not yet been revealed, Mustaine emphasized that now is the ideal time for the release of the final album and farewell tour. "Don't be sad, don't be gloomy, but celebrate with us these upcoming years. We have created something truly wonderful," he noted.
The band was formed in 1983, after Mustaine left Metallica, and since then they have released 16 studio albums. The band's first album, "Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!", was released in 1985.
