A teenager has been arrested following the death of a 13-year-old girl in Huddersfield

In Huddersfield, on Shipridge Street, police arrested a teenager on suspicion of murder and the death of a 13-year-old girl. She was found unconscious in a flat on September 11 at 11:36 PM and was pronounced dead in the hospital on September 12.

The arrested individual, a 16-year-old boy, has also been charged in connection with the death of a 16-year-old girl in a separate incident in the Kirklees area.

West Yorkshire Police reported that the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death remain unclear, as the pathologist has not yet determined the cause of her death. Investigations are ongoing, and investigators indicate that they may take some time.

Detective Inspector Staysi Atkinson stated that specially trained officers are providing support to the family of the deceased.
