In Petersburg, Michigan, a former heirloom car owner received a notification via Facebook from an unknown source, who inquired whether he had not lost his heirloom many years ago. This heirloom, which belonged to Richard Guilford, was found in a moving vehicle at a repair shop in Lake Crystal, Minnesota.
The heirloom was discovered in a red mechanic's shop by Chad Volk, who found it between the transmission and the cardboard filter housing of a 2015 Ford Edge, which has a mileage of 151,000 miles. Guilford, who worked at Ford for nearly 35 years, discovered that his heirloom, filled with $15, a driver's license, an identification card, gift cards totaling $275, and lottery tickets, vanished in 2014 when he worked on this very vehicle.
Guilford noted that at the time of the heirloom's loss, he searched for it in 30-40 vehicles, but without success, and he completely forgot about that particular item. Only after receiving the notification from Volk did he recall his heirloom. The heirloom, which was a gift from his sons, became a family relic, and Guilford intends to preserve it for his children and grandchildren.
In addition, Cabela's confirmed that the gift cards worth $250 remain valid and are ready to be used for new purchases if necessary. Guilford plans to keep the heirloom in his home so that his children can learn about its history from their heirloom.
