President of the USA Donald Trump and President of Russia Vladimir Putin will meet in Alaska on September 15 to discuss the situation in Ukraine and bilateral issues. This meeting is significant in the context of the Russian war against Ukraine, and Trump hopes that it will lead to a future meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky participating.
Trump indicated that he plans to hold a press conference after the meeting, but it could be either joint or separate. The president also expressed the view that if the meeting does not take place, he will announce the continuation of the war.
According to Trump, Putin will not be "granted" during their meeting, as he believes that the Kremlin wants to reach an agreement. Trump also noted that without his presidency, the situation in Ukraine could be completely different.
During the meeting, Putin plans to present Trump with certain "historical materials," trying to convince him that Ukraine is an artificial state.
