Klyent will not be charged in domestic violence case

  • Prosecutors will not continue the case against Jhadkins.
  • The absence of witnesses and video complicated the case.
  • Jhadkins has not yet signed a contract with the team.

Prosecutors in Florida decided not to pursue the case against rookie Cleveland Browns quarterback Quinn Jhadkins following his arrest for domestic violence, which was reported by the prosecutor's office in a memorandum on September 14.

Jhadkins, who is 21 years old, was arrested on July 12 in Fort Lauderdale. Police reports confirmed that Jhadkins struck a woman with a closed fist on July 7, and the incident was reported by the woman five days later. Jhadkins was released on a $2,500 bond on July 13.

The memorandum, released on September 14, stated that prosecutors reviewed video recordings from cameras, photographs that confirm the injuries sustained by the victim, and textual messages. They noted the absence of independent witnesses and video, on which the victim's injuries were documented. In connection with this, a decision was made not to continue the case.

It is currently unclear whether Jhadkins will return to the team, as he does not have a contract with Browns, since he has not signed his new contract after the arrest. Browns drafted Jhadkins under the 36th number in the draft, hoping that he will become an important player in their team.

The team also drafted another big-back, Dilan Sempson, in the fourth round. It is currently unclear how this will affect the distribution of roles in the Browns team.
