Bournemouth signed Dango Ouattara for a record sum

  • Bournemouth signed Dango Ouattara for a record sum of £42.5 million.
  • The agreement became possible after the player's desire to remain at Bournemouth.
  • Bournemouth is looking for a replacement for Ouattara, considering new players.

Bournemouth has concluded an agreement for a record transfer amounting to £42.5 million sterling for winger Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth. The agreement was reached after intensive negotiations between the clubs over the last 72 hours. Ouattara, 23, plans to pursue medical treatment in London on Friday.

The player, who joined Bournemouth from Lorient in January 2023, played 88 matches for the club, scoring 11 goals. His desire to remain at Bournemouth, where he did not receive enough playing time, became the main reason for the agreement.

Bournemouth previously proposed £35 million for another player, Omar Hatzhiyanson from Ipswich, but this agreement did not materialize. It remains unknown whether the arrival of Ouattara will coincide with the departure of the attacking Joane Vissa, who is not registered for the Premier League match against Nottingham Forest this weekend.

Bournemouth, in turn, is exploring the possibility of signing a replacement for Ouattara, including a focus on the American Adli from Bayer.
