At the BMW Championship, which takes place at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland, Robert MacIntyre showed an impressive result. After a two-year break due to rain, he made six consecutive birdies and finished the first round with a result of 62 strokes, which is five under par.
MacIntyre finished his round by sinking a putt from five feet on the 18th hole, and his last six birdies were made easily thanks to smooth greens. He also made a putt from 65 feet on the 12th hole and from 40 feet on the next hole.
Tommy Fleetwood, who competed for the lead, finished his round with a result of 65 strokes, which is five under par. Scottie Scheffler, the world number one, also showed a strong result, finishing with 66 strokes.
The course, which has seen changes and now has a par of 70, became more accessible after the rain, which changed its conditions. Viktor Hovland and Rickie Fowler finished the round with 67 strokes, which is also a good result.
Rory McIlroy, who returned to competition after missing the previous tournament, showed an equal result of 70 strokes and noted difficulties at the start, making three bogeys on the first six holes.
