LA28 Announces the Sale of Naming Rights for Olympic Venues
- LA28 is implementing the sale of naming rights for venues during the Olympics for the first time.
- Honda and Comcast have already secured agreements to retain their names.
- Some venues will remain with their original names during the Games.
The Olympic Games in 2028 will take place in Los Angeles, and for the first time in the history of the Games, the sale of naming rights for venues will be realized. This initiative aims to attract private investments and ensure funding for the event without new constructions.
In particular, Honda and Comcast have already secured agreements to retain their names for venues such as the Honda Center in Anaheim and the Comcast Squash Center at Universal Studios. This allows them to maintain brand identity during the Olympic Games.
Along with the new program, the naming rights for temporary venues will be available to global partners of the Olympic Committee and LA28 partners. It is expected that several partners will join the initiative, allowing them to gather additional funds for the organization of the Games.
Currently, well-known venues such as Rose Bowl, LA Memorial Coliseum, and Dodger Stadium will remain unchanged in their names. The opening of the Olympic Games is scheduled for July 14, 2028.
