The company General Motors has presented the Cadillac Elevated Velocity, a new concept electric crossover that underscores the brand's development in the luxury electric vehicle segment.
This concept features a "raised yet elegant design" and is equipped with 24-inch wheels. Cadillac asserts that the vehicle has several driving modes that enhance its performance.
The word "elevate" has a significant meaning: it refers to the raised chassis, which provides the ability to drive on rough terrain, and to elevated levels of luxury, as noted by senior Cadillac designer Oleksandr Dymovskyi.
The vehicle, while being a show car, does not have excessive performance capabilities. It continues the design principles of the "Opulent Velocity" concept presented in 2024, stated GM's global design vice president Brian Nebit.
Cadillac aims to become fully electric by 2030, although it recently announced that it will continue to produce both electric vehicles and those with internal combustion engines.
The concept proposes several modes for user experience. In the "welcome" mode, the doors open gullwing-style, and parts of the interior light up. In the "elevate" mode, the vehicle becomes autonomous, while the interior transforms into a "relaxation space," where the steering wheel and pedals disappear.
Additionally, the "velocity" mode activates more lighting to enhance driver concentration. The vehicle has different modes for driving on roads and off-road, as well as improved visibility in rainy or foggy conditions.
The exterior color of the vehicle is inspired by natural ice, while the interior is finished in red leather upholstery.
