Explosions at the Oil Refinery in Syzran

On the night of August 14 to 15, an attack occurred at the oil refinery in the Russian city of Syzran, located in the Samara region, likely carried out by drones. Local residents reported explosions and fires in the area of the refinery.

According to information published on Telegram, the explosions began around 4:00 AM local time. Witnesses noted that they heard close to ten explosions and also saw smoke from the fire.

The governor of the Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorichev, confirmed that the region experienced an attack by 13 drones, but did not provide details about the refinery. The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that Ukrainian drones destroyed 53 Russian drones overnight.

Syzran is not the only city that has reported attacks by drones. Earlier that same day, similar attacks were reported in other regions of Russia, including the Volgograd region, where fires also broke out at oil refining enterprises.
