Delays of flights due to easyJet aircraft collision
- Flight delays in Manchester due to the collision of easyJet aircraft.
- Passengers received vouchers for food during the evacuation.
- The flights were canceled after a safety assessment.
This morning at Manchester Airport, passengers are experiencing delays because two easyJet flights collided during taxiing. The incident occurred around 06:30 British time.
Flight EZY2267, which was headed to Gibraltar, and EZY2117, which was flying to Paris, "came into contact" during taxiing to the runway. After the collision, all flights at the airport were temporarily suspended for safety assessments.
Passengers of both flights were evacuated, receiving food vouchers while alternative flights were organized. As representatives of easyJet noted, passenger and crew safety is the highest priority for the company.
Only minor damage was identified on the aircraft, and the flights have already been canceled after a brief interruption. EasyJet has started an investigation to determine the causes of the incident.
