In the new season of the Premier League 2025-26, there will be a limitless change that may affect team play. The season starts on September 15, 2025, with a match between Liverpool and Bournemouth.
Significant changes relate to the rules of play, including the introduction of the eight-second rule for goalkeepers, who will now be required to release the ball within eight seconds instead of the previous all-seconds rule, and new rules for captain interactions with referees.
In addition, the Premier League has expanded television coverage, with a new agreement worth £6.7 billion, which allows for more matches to be broadcast, including all games that take place outside the blocked time on Saturdays at 15:00.
This season will also feature new technologies, such as the arbiter-tracking technology, as well as the implementation of the semi-automated offside technology, which will reduce the duration of VAR checks. Teams will have greater access to broadcasts, including interviews during the game.
Among the newcomers who may change the dynamics of teams, it is worth mentioning Martin Zubimenko, who transferred to Arsenal, and Matheus Kunya, who is expected to support Patrick Dorg in Manchester United. Zubimenko showcases his versatility on the field, while Kunya has the potential to improve Dorg's game, thanks to his skills.
This season promises to be exciting and interesting, with new players and technologies that can change the game flow.
