During the last few days, a significant number of civilians have been evacuated from the Donetsk region. On August 14, 2025, 5,766 people were evacuated from the region, including 213 children. This is the highest number since the beginning of the full-scale war.
The head of the Donetsk regional administration, Vadim Filashkin, reported that previously the maximum number of evacuees was 2,011 people on August 8, 2024. In September 2025, there is an observed increase in the scale of evacuation: while previously 300-400 people were evacuated daily, now their number has increased to 600-700.
The mandatory evacuation of families with children began on April 7, 2023. As of September 13, 2025, 280 children remained in the nine populated points that were under mandatory evacuation. The largest number of children, 195, is located in Dobropillya. Over the past week, 196 children were evacuated from these populated points along with their parents or guardians.
On August 14, it was also announced about the start of the mandatory evacuation from the town of Druzhkivka and neighboring villages, where there are approximately 1,879 children in total. These measures are part of a large-scale evacuation of the civilian population from the frontline territories.
