Injury Concerns Surrounding Isaac's Future at Newcastle Continue
- Alexander Isak will not play in the opening match of the Premier League season.
- The manager of Newcastle confirmed that Isak's situation remains uncertain.
- The club rejected a record proposal from Liverpool for the player.
In Newcastle, England, Alexander Isak remains unavailable for selection for the start of the Premier League season due to concerns about his future at the club. Ahead of the season opener against Aston Villa, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe confirmed that Isak's situation has not changed.
During this transfer window, Isak received a proposal from Liverpool; however, according to Howe, the club rejected a record proposal of 110 million pounds sterling. Howe indicated that Isak has shown no desire to return to the team and continues to explore possibilities for a transfer.
Howe also emphasized that Isak's absence has complicated the team's preparations for the season. "It was a challenging period, but the players have come together and demonstrated a strong team spirit," he added.
Isak, who joined Newcastle in 2022 and scored 23 goals last season, currently does not plan to play in the match against Aston Villa. Howe noted that the club is focusing on signing a new forward, Jacob Ramsey from Villa, but he will not participate in the match.
