Diogo Jota's family is expected at the "Anfield" stadium on Friday when Liverpool kicks off their new season in the Premier League with a match against Bournemouth. The club plans to honor the memory of the former forward, who tragically passed away in a car accident along with his brother, Andre Silva, on July 3 in Spain.
This weekend, during all Premier League matches, there will be a moment of silence, and players will wear black armbands. On the large screens of the stadiums, there will be announcements and images in honor of Jota.
Liverpool is also organizing a fan tribute, during which a special mosaic will be presented at Anfield and the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand before the moment of silence. Liverpool manager, Jürgen Klopp, expressed his feelings about the loss of Jota and emphasized the importance of support during this difficult time.
Liverpool players will wear the emblem "Always 20" on their shirts and shorts, which symbolizes the memory of Jota, who played under number 20. The club has already decided to retire this number as a mark of respect for the footballer.
Wolverhampton, the other team for which Jota played, is also planning a tribute during their match against Manchester City on Saturday.
