Zelensky Discussed Reinforcement in Donetsk and Funding
- The decision to reinforce the defense in Donetsk has been approved.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff, during which they approved decisions on further reinforcement of the defense in the direction of Dobropillya and other areas of Donetsk region.
“The front, especially in the Pokrovsk direction. We are preventing attempts by Russian forces to consolidate and increasing the pressure of our units on the occupier. We have success. The units of the 79th and 82nd Air Assault Brigades are operating very effectively in the direction of Dobropillya. Today, the decision to further strengthen this and other directions in Donetsk region has been approved,” Zelensky noted on Telegram.
In addition, positions in the Zaporizhzhia region have been discussed.
“The Russian army continues to sustain significant losses, trying to ensure greater favorable political positions for the Russian leadership at the upcoming meeting in Alaytsi. We are analyzing this plan and informing our partners about the real situation,” the president added.
At the meeting, they also discussed the development of the contracting system in the Armed Forces and funding for the defense forces and security of Ukraine for 2025-2026. “Under any conditions, our army will be ready to react effectively and quickly to threats to the statehood of Ukraine. The priority is the development of the contracting army,” Zelensky stated.
