Wrexham signs Nathan Broadhead to strengthen the team

  • Wrexham has signed Nathan Broadhead for a record fee
  • The team aims to improve its level in the Championship
  • The coach positively assessed the condition of injured Kiefer Moore

Phil Parkinson, the coach of Wrexham, stated that the team was forced to spend significant money to compete in the Championship after a new record was set for transfers with the signing of Nathan Broadhead. The Welsh forward joined from Ipswich on a deal that could reach £10 million sterling.

Broadhead became the ninth signing of Wrexham this summer, which is competing in the second tier of English football for the first time in three seasons after being promoted from the National League. Parkinson noted that the support from the owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is key to the club's success.

"There are many financial opportunities in the division. From the very beginning, since we have progressed so quickly as a club, we have always been determined to work hard to raise the level of quality to that of the first team," said Parkinson.

Additionally, Broadhead, who previously came through the youth system at Wrexham, has become the club's biggest signing in the transfer market under the guidance of its owners. The 27-year-old forward has already received 14 caps for the Welsh national team and played 18 matches in the Premier League last season.

Wrexham played its first match in the Championship against Southampton, losing 2-1, but Parkinson gave a positive prognosis regarding the recovery of injured signing Kiefer Moore, although no specific return date has been announced yet.
