The Minister of Defense of Great Britain, Jon Healey, reported that the country is ready to send troops to the territory of Ukraine to strengthen the ceasefire regime if such an agreement is reached. He emphasized that "we are ready to deploy British troops on the ground in Ukraine," noting that the role of Great Britain lies not only in observation.
"No, the role of Great Britain lies in supporting Ukraine on the battlefield and in negotiations, as well as in preparing for the implementation of plans within the framework of a coalition of 30 other countries for ensuring peace," Healey noted.
He also reported that more than 200 military planners from the coalition are working on detailed scenarios of actions in case of a ceasefire. Healey added that the government of Great Britain is ready to impose economic sanctions against Russia if President Vladimir Putin does not demonstrate serious intent at the meeting in Algiers.

On August 14, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, met with the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Keir Starmer. The leaders discussed measures for ensuring long-term peace, provided that the USA ensures the ceasefire from the side of Russia and transition to real diplomacy.
They also discussed support for the Ukrainian army and the development of defense production. At the beginning of August, President Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law on the ratification of the agreement with Great Britain for 100 years.
