As a result of the attack, two police officers were killed in Sviatohirsk

On August 15 in the city of Sviatohirsk, Donetsk region, two police officers were killed as a result of shelling by Russian troops. The attack occurred around 04:45, when the officers were on patrol duty.
Deceased: Captain Roman Penkov, 41 years old, senior officer of department No. 4 (Sviatohirsk) of the Kramatorsk city police administration, and senior sergeant Valentyn Havrysh, 29 years old, head of the local police unit.
Penkov was a resident of the Raihorodok area and left behind a wife and a seven-year-old daughter. Havrysh joined the National Police in 2019 and served as a leader in the rapid response unit since September 2021.
According to reports from the Donetsk military administration, throughout the last day, Russian troops carried out 49 shellings of populated areas in the region. A total of 5,766 people were evacuated, including 213 children.
