The Super League match between Salford and Wakefield, scheduled for the weekend, has been canceled due to serious issues regarding player availability.
The Salford club, which is experiencing financial difficulties, made the decision to cancel the fixture after discussions with the Rugby Football League. The team still has a few experienced players left, as many of them have left the club this season.
After suffering a defeat by a score of 80-6 against Halifax, where five new players made their debut, the club found itself in a precarious position. In the club's statement, it was noted that out of 17 players available for the postponed match, only two brothers have participated in Super League matches over the last 12 months.
