The host of One America News Matt Gaetz admitted to using fake images of female soldiers during a segment dedicated to increasing the number of female recruits in the military. This incident occurred during an interview with Pentagon spokesperson Kinglsy Uilson, where recruitment statistics were discussed.
Gaetz, a former congressman from the Republican Party, stated that the images, which were demonstrated during the program, were created by the artificial intelligence. According to him, these images were not provided by the Ministry of Defense, but were generated by the Grok chatbot, developed by Elon Musk.
Uilson praised the increase in female recruitment, stating that the number of female recruits rose from 16,000 to 24,000 per year. However, the Pentagon representative later confirmed that the department did not provide the images shown on One America News. Gaetz acknowledged that the use of fake images was a mistake and promised to adhere to better standards in the future.
This incident has become part of a larger discussion about the use of artificial intelligence in media. Other journalists, such as Jim Acosta, have also faced criticism for using AI in their reports, which highlights the growing ethical concerns surrounding this technological tool.
