Passenger train collided with a freight train in Denmark

On Friday, September 15, 2025, a serious DTP occurred in Denmark when a passenger train collided with a freight train near the locality of Tinglev in the southern part of Jutland.
As a result of the collision, according to preliminary data, one person was killed, and several others were injured. At the time of the accident, there were 95 passengers on the train, among whom were students from the city of Sønderborg.
Emergency services arrived very quickly at the scene of the incident. Helicopters and drones were dispatched to search for the injured. Photographs from the scene of the incident show that two train cars derailed and overturned.
The national railway operator DSB reported that train traffic between Tinglev and Sønderborg was suspended. According to representatives of Banedanmark, the accident occurred on the railway crossing, where the train collided with a freight train carrying rare earths.
