In Monrovia, California, a pedestrian was killed on the sixth, struck by immigration agents who were conducting a raid at a Home Depot store. The incident occurred on September 15, 2025, when police received a report about the presence of agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the area.
According to the city manager, Dylan Fake, one of the individuals involved was struck on the sixth, where his vehicle was taken. The injured party was transported to a hospital, but he suffered from severe injuries. Fake expressed sympathy on behalf of the family of the deceased.
The California Department of Motor Vehicles is conducting an investigation into the incident. It is known that at that time, when the raid took place, ICE did not report any activity in Monrovia. A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security stated that the deceased was not the subject of ongoing enforcement by the agency.
This incident became another case in which a person was killed during a pursuit from immigration agents in Southern California. Last month, a worker was killed after falling from a roof during a raid in another area.
Protests erupted in response to this incident, including at a protest action at Home Depot, where a man was killed. Protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the current immigration enforcement policies implemented during President Trump's administration.
