US President Donald Trump stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is pivotal in signing an agreement with Russia. In his interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Trump noted that his meeting with Putin was "remarkable" and that it is crucial to stop the war in Ukraine.
Zelensky expressed hope that a future meeting between Trump and Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, could open a path for trilateral negotiations. He stressed the necessity of ending the war and Ukraine's readiness for productive work.
Trump also added that any additional decisions regarding the peace agreement lie on Zelensky's shoulders. He emphasized that all actions must be agreed upon, and that European countries should have a larger role in the process.
The meeting between Trump and Putin took place for the first time since 2021 and lasted nearly three years.
