Abduction of Ukrainian children
Since the beginning of the full-scale aggression of Russia, the Russian authorities have launched a massive campaign of illegal deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia. The children were abducted in their families for the subsequent illegal adoption by Russian citizens.
According to the words of the Ukrainian commissioner for human rights, Dmytro Lubinets, since the beginning of the war, Russia has deported over 19,500 children from Ukraine. This year, more than a thousand of them have been returned, but the process continues.
This year, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a legislative bill that establishes liability for illegal emigration and the exploitation of children for military purposes by representatives of foreign states.
More details on how Russia abducts and exploits Ukrainian children can be found in the RBC-Ukraine report.
