Assessment of Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 16

• In the past day, Russia lost 1,010 military personnel and 42 units of equipment.

As of August 16, 2025, Russia has sustained significant losses in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war on February 24, 2022. According to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the total number of killed and wounded Russian soldiers is approximately 1,069,050, of which 1,010 personnel were liquidated or wounded in just the last 24 hours.

During this time, Ukrainian forces have also destroyed a large number of enemy military equipment. Specifically, since the start of the war, 11,112 (+6) tanks, 23,135 (+2) armored vehicles, 31,540 (+42) artillery systems, 1,467 RZSO, 1,207 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,558 cruise missiles, 422 aircraft, 340 helicopters, 51,342 (+152) unmanned aerial vehicles, 28 military ships/boats, 1 submarine, 58,733 (+137) vehicles and fuel tanks, as well as 3,942 units of special equipment have been recorded as destroyed.
