Russia's Attack on Ukraine Involves Missile and Drones
- 61 enemy drone destroyed or downed

On August 16, 2025, Ukrainian air defense forces reported on a Russian attack that involved the use of missiles and drones. A total of one ballistic missile of the Iskander-M type and 85 drones were launched.
The attack occurred overnight from August 15 to 16, with frontline areas of Sumy, Donetsk, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions being targeted.
According to previous data, Ukrainian forces destroyed or downed 61 enemy drones. At the same time, 24 drones and a missile hit 12 targets in various regions.
The attacks were carried out from the territory of Russia, including Kursk, Belgorod, and Rostov regions, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea. The response of Ukrainian forces included units of electronic warfare, mobile fire groups, and anti-aircraft forces.
It is noted that on August 15, Russian troops attacked the market in the center of Sumy, which led to casualties. Rescuers worked on-site, but due to the threat of repeated strikes, they had to suspend their work.
Also, on August 15, during the performance of service duties, two police officers were killed in Svyatohirsk as a result of Russian shelling.
