LONDON — Following the cyberattack on the company Inflite The Jet Centre Ltd, which works with the Ministry of Defence of Great Britain, there may be compromised individuals among approximately 3,700 people. Among the potential victims are Afghans seeking refuge in Great Britain, as well as British military personnel, civil servants, and journalists.

The company confirmed that it became a victim of a data leak that occurred between December and January 2024. According to a company representative, as a result of the incident, unauthorized access to a limited number of electronic documents was obtained.

Information about the incident was reported to the Office of the Information Commissioner, and the company is cooperating with the National Crime Agency and the National Cyber Security Centre for investigation. At this moment, it is unclear who exactly carried out the cyberattack.

A government representative stated that data security is a priority, and all individuals whose data may have been compromised received notification about the incident. Currently, no threats to the safety of individuals have been identified, and it has also been confirmed that the data was not leaked on the internet.

This incident occurred after a previous leak that happened in the summer of 2022, when data of 18,714 Afghans who cooperated with British forces was disclosed in the results of the investigation.
