Luis Enrique plans to continue making history with PSG in the new season

The head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Enrique, stated on Saturday that his goal for this season is to "continue making history," having secured another title in the Champions League after the club's first overhaul in 2025.

"It is extremely important for the team to win the Champions League twice in a row. That is our goal. We are very ambitious," said the Spaniard during a press conference.

PSG has only had a few training sessions before the overhaul against Tottenham in the penalty series to win the UEFA Super Cup, and Luis Enrique praised the fighting spirit of his team, especially since they are starting the battle for the fifth title in Ligue 1 this season.

"I like how the team is fighting in the European Super Cup, regardless of limited preparation. This is the DNA of this team in recent seasons - always fighting," he added.

Luis Enrique, who won two Ligue 1 titles with PSG, previously also coached Barcelona, where he secured two La Liga titles in a row, but did not manage to achieve triumph in the third time.

The coach noted that he anticipates a tough start to the Ligue 1 season but remains hopeful for the overhaul in the match against Nantes, who finished last season in 13th place.

"I see improvements after just a week of training. We know how difficult it is to play away against any team. In Nantes, we will face problems, it will be tight," he said.
