- Brentford has signed an agreement for 42.5 million pounds for Ouattara.
- The forward is considered a replacement for Mbemo.
- Bournemouth is exploring options for a replacement for Ouattara.
Brentford has finalized the signing of forward Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth for a record 42.5 million pounds.
Ouattara has signed a five-year contract with the possibility of extending for another year. The 23-year-old forward, who scored nine goals in 37 matches last season, is seen as a replacement for Bryan Mbemo, who has moved to Manchester United in July.
Brentford's head coach, Kitt Andrews, noted that the club was pleased to have the opportunity to sign Ouattara, as the forward has yet to find his rhythm through inconsistent playing time at Bournemouth.
Sources confirm that Ouattara himself wanted to leave Bournemouth, as he has not been able to secure a permanent role in the team. Andrews believes that the new forward will fit well into Brentford's style of play.
Previously, Nottingham Forest showed interest in Ouattara, but in the end, they signed winger Omar Hachinson for 37.5 million pounds.
So far, it is unclear whether the arrival of Ouattara will affect the future of attacking midfielder Joane Vissa, whose status in the team remains in question.
Bournemouth, in turn, is looking for a replacement for Ouattara and is considering Amin Adli from Bayer as a key target.
