Nottingham Forest confirmed the signing of James McAtee from Manchester City with a deal that could reach £30 million sterling.
The 22-year-old English midfielder signed a five-year contract, while the club also plans to confirm the signing of Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich, which will set a record for the club.
McAtee, captain of the England U21 team, expressed a desire to help the club continue a successful season. "I am happy to be here and I am eagerly waiting for the new challenge," the player stated.
The chief football officer of Nottingham, Ross Wilson, stated that the club had long been tracking McAtee and was pleased that he chose them. "His creativity attracted us," Wilson said.
McAtee, who scored seven goals for Manchester City last season, is looking for more playing time, especially since there is a lot of competition for his position in the club.
In addition, he declined to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup to represent England in the youth championship of Europe.
