A Brighton club fan suffered a heart attack during the second half of the Premier League match against Fulham, which took place on September 16, 2025. The 72-year-old man became unresponsive, and despite the medical team's efforts, he could not be revived.

The club confirmed that the man, who was located in the upper tier of the East Stand at the Amex Stadium, received prolonged resuscitation and defibrillation, but he passed away after the match, which concluded in a draw 1-1.

Brighton's general director Paul Barber expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. He stated that the situation was emotionally difficult for everyone present at the stadium.

The match was not stopped, as the teams and the police of Sussex and the Premier League decided that it could compromise rescue efforts, as well as divert additional attention to the incident.
