The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated that Russia's refusal to accept the truce complicates the process of ending the conflict that has lasted for more than three years. In his post on social media, he noted: "We see that Russia is making numerous attempts to avoid the truce and still has not specified when to stop the killings. This complicates the situation."
At a meeting with Donald Trump in alliance, the President of the USA supported the plan to end the war, which includes the transfer of unrecognized territories of Russia. Trump also noted that Ukraine should participate in the agreement with Moscow, as "Russia is a very strong power." Meanwhile, European leaders expressed concern that such an approach could give Moscow an advantage in negotiations.
After the meeting, Trump stated that all agreed on the necessity of including a peace agreement, rather than just a truce, which often does not hold. This became an unexpected step, as earlier Trump demanded from Russia a cessation of hostilities.
Leaders of all Baltic states confirmed their support for Ukraine and called for security guarantees for the country. They believe that peace between Ukraine and Russia is possible only on the condition of a truce.
On the front, Ukrainian forces reported successes in northern Ukraine, pushing back Russian forces by 2 km.
