Destruction of Russian troops continues near Dobripillya

As of September 17, 2025, Ukrainian troops are successfully holding the defense near Dobripillya in the Donetsk region. According to data from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian forces are attempting to break through the Ukrainian defense, using aviation drones.

On September 15, the command of the Ukrainian corps operating in the Pokrovsk direction reported on the liberation of the populated points of Hruzyke, Rubizhne, Novovodyane, Petrykivka, Vesele, and Zoloty Kolodyaz, which are located in the northeastern part of Dobripillya. The Ukrainian military intelligence also confirmed partial stabilization of the frontline in the area of Vesele–Zoloty Kolodyaz–Kucheriv Yar.

Russian military bloggers claim that their forces have achieved tactical successes on the Dobripillya–Kramatorsk route, while ISW does not confirm this information. Meanwhile, the Russian command is trying to redeploy forces and equipment for an offensive in the Dobripillya area, but so far without success.

On the Ukrainian side, evacuations of civilians from populated points located near the zone of Russian attacks are ongoing. On September 14, the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin, announced the evacuation of families with children from Druzhkivka and the villages of Andriivka, where about 1,800 children live.

According to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to September 17, 2025, Russian troops have suffered significant losses. Total combat losses amount to approximately 1,069,950 personnel, including 900 killed or wounded in the last day. Also, 11,116 tanks, 23,143 armored fighting vehicles, 31,589 artillery systems, and 51,528 drones have been destroyed.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in these areas, noting that Russian attempts to advance have resulted in significant losses for the enemy.
