In the Masters 1000 final in Cincinnati, Carlos Alcaraz will face Jannik Sinner. Alcaraz, currently ranked number 2, defeated Alexander Zverev, who is in third place in the world rankings. The match took place on August 17, 2025, and ended with a score of 6-4, 6-3 on the Spanish court.
The match started with a delay due to health issues of one of the spectators. Also, during the second set, Zverev left the court to restore his blood sugar level due to diabetes. This impacted his game, and he could not resist Alcaraz, who managed to control the pace of the match.
This game was the first encounter between Alcaraz and Zverev this season, although last year they met four times. Alcaraz and Sinner will meet in the final for the last three months. Prior to this, they faced each other once in tournaments in Rome, Paris, and London.
