Devastating flood hits northern China

On Saturday, August 16, at 10 PM local time, in the region of Inner Mongolia, in the Urad River Bend area, a devastating flood hit a camping site. As a result of this natural disaster, all eight people were confirmed dead, while four others are considered missing.

Initially, thirty tourists went missing. On the morning of Sunday, August 17, one of them was found dead, while all the bodies were located, according to information from the state information agency Xinhua.

Search and rescue operations continue to find four more missing people. In the last week in northern China, there have been several reported incidents of devastating floods and landslides. At the beginning of August in the northern-western province of Gansu, at least ten people died, while another thirty-three are considered missing.

In addition, other parts of the country have also suffered from severe floods, including Hong Kong, where historical downpours have been observed.
