President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted that "the cessation of killings is a key element in stopping the war," emphasizing the need for pressure from Russia in the process of peace negotiations.
In a statement published on social media, he expressed that Russia is not responding to the clear calls for a ceasefire and did not specify when it plans to stop military actions that complicate the situation.
In the joint statement of the leaders of the Nordic-Baltic cooperation, which includes Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden, it is emphasized that "Putin cannot be trusted." They reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine, stressing the importance of peace regulation and providing security guarantees.
The leaders of the cooperation stated that "to achieve a just and lasting peace, the next step must be cooperation with Ukraine." They also called for the return of children abducted from occupied territories and for the liberation of military personnel.
Zelensky thanked the Nordic-Baltic cooperation for their support, noting that all points mentioned in the statement are important for achieving lasting peace. He also emphasized the necessity of closer coordination with international partners in preparation for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
