Rico Lewis Remains at Manchester City, Despite Interest from Nottingham Forest

  • Rico Lewis has confirmed that he will remain at Manchester City.
  • Nottingham Forest is interested in young talents from City.
  • Omar Hatzhynson and James McAbeety have signed contracts with Forest.

Rico Lewis stated that he has no intention of leaving Manchester City this summer. The defender believes that not getting involved in the title race of the Premier League last season helped the team achieve new heights.

The 20-year-old footballer, who has been with City since he was eight years old, emphasized that he has always dreamed of playing for this club. "I can’t imagine myself without City. I’m happy to play with such players, it helps me unlock my potential," said Lewis after the match against Wolverhampton.

Lewis played 44 matches across all competitions last season, but with the arrival of Matheus Nunes, he has dropped down the right flank position. After discussions with coach Pep Guardiola, he confirmed his readiness to fight for a place in the squad. "Everyone wants to play, but in the end, it all depends on me," Lewis noted.

Nottingham Forest is interested in Lewis as part of a major transfer campaign, although they have currently reached an agreement with James McAbeety, who signed for 30 million pounds. Forest's head coach Nuno Espírito Santo is also looking for new players, including forward Arno Kalimundo.

In the context of transfer news, new signing from Nottingham, Omar Hatzhynson, stated that the club is an "ideal place" for his development. He joined the team alongside McAbeety, both signing five-year contracts.
